Austrian Ecolabel
In our business, we use only Austrian eggs that are either barn-fresh or organic. We always purchase our meat from the Berger company, which processes AMA-approved Austrian meat from Austrian farms. We purchase our goods from regional Austrian companies.
In the period from October 2010 to October 2018, Mariahilferbräu met the strict criteria of the state quality seal and was thus officially allowed to use the Austrian Ecolabel. With this certification, we carry our message and our offer to the world: sustainable action and environmentally friendly management are writ large in our company.
What is the Austrian Ecolabel?
In 1996, the Austrian Eco-label for tourism businesses and gastronomy was launched. The seal of approval is awarded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment and recognises those companies that voluntarily comply with strict criteria.
These guidelines or criteria relate to all areas of the business – operations and environmental management, food and kitchen, service, hygiene and cleaning, equipment and furnishings, water, waste, air and noise, energy supply and energy saving – and not only have a positive impact on
our environmental situation, but also on the well-being of the guests.
Today, as we continue to fulfil our promise to the environment and our commitments developed and implemented with the Ecolabel, we continue to strive to improve. We request support and feedback from our guests. Should you have any environmentally relevant improvements or ideas,
we ask you to inform us about them.
If each of us takes on a share of environmental awareness, we, our guests and not least our children will have something of the "miracle" for a long time to come. Nature. 💚🌎
